Me and Dali had been going through a change, a metamorphosis. We early on had a very strong and passionate relationship, but we had a relationship separate from God. Not to say we were bad people. We didn’t pray together, and I don’t even remember when we were dating if we said grace together. But, I remember I was in the Marine Corps and she would come down to visit me for the weekend from Northern Virginia, and I would bore her with documentaries about the life of Jesus and all the things I was studying because at the time I was searching for God. I was searching for my connection. I was trying to find out how I could talk to Him, not knowing the whole time He was talking to me. I just wasn’t listening.
